I can’t really think of anyone beating either Cairoli, Herlings or Gajser at the 2022 British GP, but you just watch as Jorge Prado or somebody else proves me wrong. Prado is yet to win at the circuit, and what is also amazing is from 11 MX2 GP's run at Matterley only Herlings has two wins from that class at the circuit. Of course Max Anstie won the overall at the MXoN in 2017, but that ain't a GP. Gajser vs Herlings - Matterley Basin Posted on JI don’t think it is a secret that we all go into the second round of the 2021 MXGP championship this weekend all wondering what the outcome will be, with bigger question marks than ever before in the toughest motocross championship in the World. What is really interesting is outside Cairoli, Herlings and Tim Gajser, only Clement Desalle has won a GP at Matterley since 2011. Well, Stefan Everts on the MXGP class in 2006 and also the MXoN overall in the MXGP class, so I guess we can count The King in the multiple winner list. Infront Moto Racing and Milestone are pleased to release MXGP 2021. Amazingly, despite the success of both Cairoli and Herlings at Matterley Basin, no other rider has won at the circuit twice. Due due to weather conditions at Matterley Basin an updated version of the weekend timetable has been prepared. Red Bull KTM Factory rider and defending MXGP World champion Jeffrey Herlings has won four times at the circuit in the valley, two in MX2 in 20 and two in MXGP in 20. Cairoli has 10 moto wins at Matterley, his last coming in his GP victory last year when he went 1-3 to lead home Gajser and Herlings. L’MXGP della Gran Bretagna vedrà anche il ritorno di Arminas Jasikonis (Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing) che si unirà al suo compagno di squadra Thomas Kjer Olsen a Matterley Basin. The big rumour is that Cairoli will actually race the opening round of the 2022 MXGP championship and I for one sure hope that happens. Posted on June 28, 2021, 5:56 pm By Cowgirl In this we have the full replay of the second round of the MXGP Championship from Great Britain, Matterley Basin. Amazingly, Antonio Cairoli has 6 victories at Matterley, all in the MXGP class, although his first appearance at the circuit was all the way back in 2006 when he followed David Philippaerts home in the MX2 class and scored a very impressive moto win against Ryan Villopoto in the MXoN after crashing out of his first moto and finishing in 10 th place. Now, back home in The Netherlands I can go through my files and give you a better look at the winners of the Matterley Basin rounds. So, while my articles can never been seen as a work or art, that one was all over the place (at least I think it was).Īfter spending a month in Thailand and a month in Egypt to get away from the European winter, but to also recharge my batteries for yet another season of Grand Prix motocross, I am not fully focused (well, as focused as I am ever going to get) and ready for Matterley Basin in a few weeks’ time. Now, I have to admit, I wrote the story as I was at the airport in Egypt and to be honest, I had downed a few beers and was also in a hurry to write the article as my departure time arrived. A few days ago, I placed a story on MXlarge about the winners of the British Grand Prix at Matterley Basin.
